The only way to become an OCFM Coach is to enrol on one of our Coach Training Programs.

Coach Information

Our Coaches have a wide and varied background in the Martial Arts. They all have one thing in common, the OCFM Syllabus, Principles, ethics and above all COACHING ability.

Even though their backgrounds are different, their Arts are different, these other commonalities bring everyone together into the most cohesive and forward thinking group in the Country.

This is a specialized field of study and utilizes the sciences and concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and / or Modern Western Medicine (MWM) as it applies to life-protection techniques. Only Coaching Levels will be issued. Black Belt rank and Coach Levels are separate acknowledgments. A person may attain, for example, the rank of 5th degree black belt yet posses only an Assistant Coach Level or none at all.

In order to receive Coach certification in this field, one must posses the minimum of 1st Degree Black Belt or equivalent, a specified level of understanding and an applied expertise of TCM and / or MWM in accordance with OCFM standards.

Additionally, one must actively participate in OCFM seminars, support and promote OCFM, be a current member and study directly under an OCFM National Coach or higher. The OCFM Technical Committee will review each eligible applicant.
